The Emergency Management Committee shall:
(a) advise Council on the development of emergency plans and programs, as required by Section 11.1 of the Emergency Management Act;
(b) provide guidance and direction to the Calgary Emergency Management Agency;
(c) receive any reports and information provided by the Director of Emergency Management;
(d) amplify messaging provided by the Director of Emergency Management during Municipal Emergency Plan activations; and
(e) support the Director of Emergency Management, as requested, during Municipal Emergency Plan activations.
Board Information
The Chair of the Community Development Committee shall be the Chair of the Committee.
The Committee shall consist of all council members serving on the Community Development Committee.
The Chair of the Community Development Committee shall be the Chair of the Committee.
Mayor is ex-officio.
The Committee must meet at least once per year.
Regular meetings of the Committee shall be at the call of the Chair.
The Chair, in consultation with the Director of Calgary Emergency Management Agency, may call an emergency meeting of the Committee where the Chair considers that an emergency exists or may exist in the City.

Despite subsection 3.(7) of Bylaw 25M2002, those members in attendance at any particular time during an emergency meeting of the Committee constitute a quorum.
