Calgary Housing's mandate is the development, provision and operation of housing and accommodation. As the largest landlord in Calgary, Calgary Housing provides affordable housing options for approximately 10,000 households serving 27,000 citizens, including 15,000 children.
Calgary Housing is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary.
Board Information
All directors shall be elected for an initial term of up to three years, after which, at the option of the shareholder, any such directors may be elected for further three-year terms.
Directors who are not members of Council or employees of the shareholder are eligible to serve on the Board for a maximum of nine consecutive years.
The election of all directors shall be by resolution at a shareholder meeting.
The Chair and the Vice-Chair shall be elected from amongst the directors.

The Director of Finance / City Treasurer with The City of Calgary
Up to 9, but no less than 6 Public Members
The Calgary Housing Board meetings are held quarterly.
Majority of the Directors
Calgary Housing is not part of the City Clerk's advertisement, recruitment and appointment of the Boards, Commissions and Committees process.
Public Members are recruited through Calgary Housing and are appointed at the Annual Shareholder Meeting.
